Evert Worries Swiatek Could Break Her Grand Slam Record
Evert's Record in Jeopardy
American tennis legend Chris Evert is concerned that Iga Swiatek could break her record of 18 Grand Slam singles titles. Swiatek has already won two French Open titles and is the favorite to win a third this year. If she does, she will be just 21 years old and will have plenty of time to add to her tally.
Swiatek's Roland Garros Dominance
Swiatek has been dominant on clay this year, winning all 35 matches she has played. She has not dropped a set in any of her matches at Roland Garros this year and has only lost 21 games in total. She is the clear favorite to win the title again this year and Evert believes that she is capable of breaking her record.
Evert said, "I worry about it every day. I think she's got a great chance to break my record. She's so young and she's already so good. She's got all the tools to be the best in the world for a long time."
If Swiatek can win the French Open this year, she will be the youngest player to win three Grand Slam singles titles since Steffi Graf in 1988. She will also be the first player to win three consecutive French Open titles since Graf in 1990-92.
